Jackson County Clerical Specialist 4

The Jackson County Department of Job and Family Services is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Clerical Specialist 4. 

This position consists primarily of preparing advanced-level correspondence and customer service with respect to a Quad combined agency. Scanning documents, answering general questions, make referrals to appropriate resources in the community; tracks flow of customer traffic entering waiting room and length of customer wait; provides assistance to customers waiting in the lobby needing additional help; fields questions from dissatisfied customers and refers those customers to other staff for appropriate resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS:  An example of acceptable qualifications:

Twelve months experience as a Clerical Specialist 3, 10113.

Or completion of two years of technical training in office administration/secretarial science.

Or formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction, and reading and writing common English vocabulary.  Also requires one course or six months experience in typing or keyboarding and one course or six months experience in word process.  In addition, applicants must have an addition twelve months previous clerical experience in a position similar to a Clerical Specialist 3, 10113.

Or education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:  The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive:

Personal computer, printer, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, adding machine, scanner and other standard business office equipment.

Starting Salary rate is $10.72 per hour.
