Director/Fiscal Officer

Hardin County is seeking applicants for the position of Job & Family Services Director/Fiscal Officer.  A dual position. Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, work well with others and be able to balance program, fiscal, personnel and external issues.  Responsibilities include the following:

  • Developing and monitoring the agency’s two million dollar plus budget
  • Assuring the agency conforms to federal, state and local policies and procedures
  • Managing the purchasing of supplies, equipment and services and the processing of billing statements for payment, and
  • Preparing and submitting financial reports to the state in a timely and accurate manner

Upon assuming the role of Director/Fiscal Officer, the individual will oversee all personnel and public relations functions and will be responsible for administering all agency programs and activities of Public Assistance and Children Services Department.  At a minimum, the candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and have five years administrative or managerial experience, including in fiscal aspects of an organization, agency program or operational area and in assisting in the development and implementation of policies, programs and procedures.  At least two of the five years must have been as a supervisor over subordinate staff.  Prior experience in Job and Family Service fiscal operations and a background including a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, finance or accounting is preferred. OR, education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualification stated.

Salary to be negotiated and will be based on qualifications.  The position has a FLSA Professional Exemption and is Unclassified.
