This position is in the Bargaining Unit.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
In the Child Support Enforcement Division, the successful candidate will be responsible for enforcement activities of assigned cases. The individual selected will have strong customer service skills, both in person and over the telephone. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals—customers, employers, and the court. The individual selected will update case files, review cases for administrative actions, utilize computer programs, conduct walk-in interviews, and telephone calls to obtain information about cases. The individual will need to work in a variety of computer systems (SETS, Microsoft Office Word, Access, and Excel). The individual selected may be required to testify in court.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of two years technical training or undergraduate major core coursework in criminology, social work, psychology, or related field; Or two years’ experience in performing child support functions including: conducting investigations to locate absent parents, establishment of paternity, and enforcement of child support orders; Or one course or six months experience in interviewing techniques, one course or six months experience in business math, one course or six months experience in case preparation techniques, one course or six months experience in criminal courts, proceedings, one course or six months experience in techniques of writing, and one course or six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing.
Or education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with CSEA program.
  • Must be proficient in use of Word and must be able to quickly learn other computer programs as needed.
  • Able to represent the agency effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with diverse groups.
  • Experience in problem solving, managing change, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to manage diverse tasks.

minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
