DEPUTY DIRECTOR - FAMILY & CHIDREN SERVICES DIVISION

The Clark County Department of Job and Family Services (CCDJFS) is seeking a Deputy Director for the Family & Children Services Division. This position is part of the agency executive leadership team and reports directly to the Director of Job and Family Services. CCDJFS is a quadruple-combined agency under the authority of the Board of County Commissioners. Other divisions with the agency include OhioMeansJobs, Child Support Enforcement Agency, BenefitsPlus, and Business Administration.

The successful candidate must be a strong visionary leader with excellent follow through, ability to plan, organize, and prioritize. He or she must be highly resourceful, creative, and self-motivated, while being a strong, enthusiastic, persuasive advocate and leader who is able to motivate individuals to achieve results. The candidate will have demonstrated ability to develop programs and build strong collaborative partnerships. He or she must have a strong social service mentality; be a team player, a hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. He or she must be a good listener with the ability to provide current, direct, and actionable feedback to others, with a commitment to developing a strong team. The candidate must be able to maintain positive relations with a variety of constituents including customers, staff, government agencies, courts and law enforcement officials. He or she must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills. This position organizes and directs the development, planning, implementation and monitoring of all program and service delivery areas of the division including adult protective services, child protective services, and the Clark County Child Advocacy Center. He/she develops policies necessary to ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal laws and regulations. Provides direct supervision to supervisory staff, provides technical assistance and training to staff, and performs public relations functions.

Minimal Requirements: Two years’ experience as an Assistant Program Administrator, or, completion of undergraduate core coursework in behavioral science or social science or in a related field. Also requires five years’ experience in program administration of which two years of experience was in a supervisory position.

Preferred Requirements: MSW, LPCC, or other related advanced degree. Familiarity with child welfare and/or child and family-centered programs and policies. Familiarity with local resources and service agencies. Considerable experience with development, implementation and supervision of programs. Demonstrated knowledge of multi-system services for children and families and ability to maintain positive working relationships across child-serving systems.

Minimum salary range for this position is $68,764.80 - $96,262.40 dependent upon relevant experience and education.
