SUMMARY:

Incumbent is responsible for the overall coordination of the Children's Network Child Advocacy Center ("Children's Network"). This includes all programs, accreditation requirements, grant seeking/application activities, general operations, outreach, and training. Incumbent will also serve as a community liaison and will work with community partners to meet the needs of the Children's Network.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The functions listed below are intended to depict general job assignments, abilities and responsibilities required of this position. Other duties as assigned.)

Serves as the primary spokesperson for the Children's Network, and as chief liaison with community partners and the media.

Performs the overall administrative tasks necessary for the effective operation of the Children's Network.

Formulates and directs the plan for achieving the Children's Network mission and vision. Establishes clear goals and objectives to advance the work of the Children's Network.

Assists stakeholders in ensuring that objectives and goals are met through Children's Network programs, services and activities.

Manages all elements of volunteering. Assesses needs of the Children’s Network and then meets those needs through the recruitment, placement and retention of volunteers. Monitors, evaluates and assigns volunteers as needed within the Children’s Network and other areas of SCJFS.

Responsible for developing and monitoring annual budgets for the Children's Network. Oversees the fiscal responsibilities of the Children's Network through accurate billing procedures with clearly defined auditing measures.

Secures funding through grant applications.

Ensures compliance with all funding sources and regulatory requirements and fulfills all requirements for the continued accreditation of the Children's Network.

Plans and organizes community events for the Children's Network, with the assistance of the agency's Marketing Specialist(s) and/or the Friends of the Children's Network Board, to raise awareness and generate resources to address the needs of children.

Utilizes a multi-disciplinary team approach to develop and establish policies and procedures.

Acts as a liaison between the Children's Network stakeholders and the Friends of the Children's Network Board.

May lead fundraising activities, when necessary, for the Children's Network.

Attends and updates Children's Network stakeholders’ meetings on a regular basis.

Assigns duties to and provides adequate supervision and evaluation to the Children's Network clerical staff.

Plans, organizes and attends meetings with Children's Network stakeholders and community partners, which includes creating the agenda, facilitating meetings, coordinating meeting times, reporting information, and minutes.

Gathers and assesses data related to the Children's Network cases and prepares monthly reports for SCJFS management and Children's Network stakeholders.

Develops and maintains positive working relationships with current and future community partners through marketing and networking activities, as well as through work-related functions.

Represents the Children's Network at meetings and conferences and makes presentations as needed.

Maintains membership/accreditation and good standing with local, state and national organizations that have a similar mission to the Children's Network.

Assists and supports the Children's Network in the development and ongoing implementation of a strategic plan.

Coordinates activities with SCJFS staff to ensure proper development of educational and marketing materials inclusive of website management.

Ensures appropriate maintenance of the Children's Network.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises 1 employee in the Children's Network Child Advocacy Center. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Incumbent must possess a Bachelor's Degree and at least five (5) years of professional leadership experience in a social service organization. Demonstrated commitment to minimizing the impact of trauma and loss on children required. Demonstrated fiscal responsibility required. Master's Degree preferred. Child Advocacy Center experience preferred. Child Welfare experience preferred. Grant writing experience preferred.
