General Job Responsibilities:

The Clark County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is a multi-disciplinary center committed to investigating cases of child sexual abuse and other child abuse in the least traumatic manner. The multi-disciplinary team involves medical personnel, child protection workers, law enforcement, prosecutors, therapists, victim advocates, other service providers and volunteers. The successful candidate will be responsible for all program and administrative activities of the CAC including organizational policies, program/service delivery, strategic planning, quality improvement and National Children’s Alliance accreditation standards. The CAC Coordinator develops and maintains interagency coordination and cooperation in the case management of child abuse cases. This position develops and manages grant applications and funding. In addition, the CAC Coordinator is responsible for additional fundraising as needed. This position is the primary liaison with the CAC Advisory Board and as such is responsible for the board meetings.

The CAC Coordinator must be a proven leader with both general and visionary leadership skills who is able to maintain positive relations with a variety of constituents including customers, staff, government and foundation officials. The successful candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills and a broad awareness of community issues, organizations and resources.

Under supervision of the Division Administrator, supervises assigned staff consisting of 1 program specialist, 1 social service worker, 1 clerical specialist and oversight of contracted personnel. This position assigns and monitors work, evaluates performance, conducts training sessions and staff meetings; responsible for enforcement of personnel policies and procedures; conducts disciplinary discussions and responds to grievances as needed; interviews applicants and makes recommendations for staff selection. Other duties appropriate for classification may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Requirements for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in behavioral science, social science, early childhood development technology, education or related field
  • Minimum of five years’ experience specializing in counseling, social work or other related fields focusing on the needs of children, two of the five years must be in direct supervision.
  • Possess a valid Ohio driver's license, required insurance, and maintain a safe and reliable vehicle.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Family and Children Services, law enforcement, legal proceedings and advocacy
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills and experience
  • Grant writing and oversight
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving, change management, and conflict resolution.

Note:  Additional consideration may be given for years and types of experience and education beyond the minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS/HAZARDS:

As a supervisor, the individual selected is responsible for the safety and health of neglected or abused children and older adults and for the enforcement of laws and standards concerning the safety or health of neglected or abused children and adults. He/She is responsible for supervising employees who must pay attention to ensure that their actions do not create dangerous situations for individuals who have been subject to abuse or neglect. Additionally, the individual generally works under favorable working conditions. Work is performed in a stable office environment. As such, the position involves very limited probability of any injury. Also, the probability of accidents or health hazard is negligible.
