OJFSDA Advocacy Award

2015 Recipient Cheryl Subler

At the OhiCheryl Subler 2015 Advocacy Award Recipiento Job and Family Service Directors’ Association we have the honor of representing the county agencies which provide work, health and human services to Ohio’s most vulnerable residents; including kids in care, the unemployed, underemployed, those needing healthcare, child care, food and public assistance and parents seeking child support, as well as other seniors, children and families.

County agencies see firsthand the needs and challenges too many Ohioans face and we do our best with the means available to help improve the lives of those we serve. Despite our efforts, the unfortunate reality is that there will always be infinitely more need than there will be resources.

The responsibility to govern the job and family service system falls on us. But we are not alone in our efforts to improve the lives of those we serve. There are also countless individuals and advocates throughout the state that give a voice to those who are too often silent. Through joint advocacy efforts, program improvements and funding are secured each year to enhance the job and family service system. OJFSDA established the Advocacy Award to recognize individuals that are promoting services for those we serve and enhancing the support system in place to help all Ohioans have a brighter future.

It is with great honor to announce the 2015 OJFSDA Advocacy Award recipient is Cheryl Subler from the County Commissioners Association of Ohio. Cheryl has been instrumental in our efforts to increase funding for job and family services and an unwavering supporter our system. She is highly respected throughout the counties and statehouse and known for her knowledge of local government, the programs we administer and her effective leadership.

We are extremely fortunate to have Ms. Subler working on our behalf. Her efforts are greatly appreciated and help garner the legislative support necessary to ensure the increased funding and better services for the individuals we serve.
