Putnam County Quality Reviewer/Fraud Specialist/Trainer

Position Overview:

Reviews and responds to Income Eligibility Verification System matches (IEVs) and other computer-generated alerts.

Determines if overpayment/over issuance and calculates overpayment/over issuance for benefit recovery.

Determines probable fraud in all programs (SNAP, Medicaid, Ohio Works First (OWF), Child Care, Prevention, Retention & Contingency (PRC).

Assists law enforcement, judicial and other government official with criminal and on criminal prosecutions and specific case information. Testify in court.

Conducts reviews of cases to detect, correct and reduce errors in casework previously processed by other workers.

Trains employees on programs and policies. Trains employees on reducing errors.

Serves as a back-up to other case managers when on vacation or extended leaves.

Conducts phone interviews and accesses the Ohio Benefits Worker Portal to perform case management to determine eligibility for assistance for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Processes change that affect eligibility for assistance.

Processes applications on a daily basis by completing new applications and reapplications for assistance and mailing out applications as needed

Completes referrals for the Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) program,

Contact clients to answer questions and provide updates to cases


Minimum Qualifications:


High School Diploma or GED.  Associate degree preferred. At least 3 years’ experience as an Eligibility Referral Specialist I preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, be skillful in problem solving, maintain accurate records and be able to develop and present new ideas to unique issues as they arise. Previous experience with Microsoft Office preferred.  You must be highly adaptable to change, organized, ability to meet multiple deadlines, and want to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in the community. Previous experience with case management and social services programs preferred.
