POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Social Services Supervisor 1, this position will provide direct transport and general case-management for all transportation eligible clients, maintain accurate case records, redetermination documentation, and associated billing and reporting. The individual demonstrates the ability to manage diverse tasks, problem solving, and is highly detailed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE JOB:
40% Provides direct transports and general case-management to all transportation eligible clients. Sets up various transportation services to clinics, doctor offices, dentist offices, hospitals, pharmacies, social service agencies and/or any appropriate supportive service programs. Provides information and makes referrals to other agencies. Schedules appointments, arranges lodging and monitors compliance of the services received and/or provided.
40% Responsible for re-determinations for transportation customers. Maintains filing of case records and completes forms to document services provided. Types and/or writes vouchers, form letters and routine correspondence; assists in preparing reports. Makes copies as needed. Tracks gas vouchers and bus tickets. Prepares bills from contract services for Fiscal Department.
15% Arranges vehicle maintenance and repairs. Assists in training new drivers. Uses various state and county databases for files, data entry, correspondence and running off reports. Attends meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
5% Other duties as assigned. May be required to perform duties under supervision of the Athens County Red Cross during an emergency, in accordance with the Athens County Job and Family Services Disaster Plan and the Athens County Emergency Operation Plan.

Knowledge of: Maintaining systematic records of financial transactions in ledger form (subject to audit) involving entry, verification and balancing of data, and operation of adding machines and/or calculators. On a daily basis, provides work direction and training normally to lower-level employees assigned to the same work unit on a daily basis. First aid or other emergency assistance background or formal industrial safety regulations and procedures. Assigned responsibility for establishing and sustaining beneficial business relationships or establishing and projecting acceptable public image. Attitudes and actions which perpetuate good working relationships and acceptable public image (business and public behavior which reflects positivity on employing agency) as opposed to assigned responsibility for establishment and maintenance of same. Analysis, organization, and direction of office operations at clerical and administrative support level, involving supervisory responsibility for office staff, and including evaluation of office production and establishment of procedures, within administrative guidelines, to improve and/or maintain efficiency and workflow. Normal operating procedures in office situation. Policies and procedures specific to internal operations of employing agency. Solicitation of standard information in one-on one situation involving at least limited interpretation or evaluation of responses and/or manner in which information is presented.
Skills: Operation of personal computer to create, edit/revise, store/purge documents using office software (Microsoft office). Computer, printer, copier, adding machine, typewriter, fax machine.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and to read and write simple sentences
• 1 course in interviewing or 1 month experience or equivalent
• Valid Ohio driver’s license required
• Must maintain current CPR/ First Aid certification
• Having held this position with the past 3 years meets the minimum qualifications
