JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision of the Deputy Director or Director provides direct and indirect supervision to UCATS staff, develops and implements agency and state policy, rules and regulations; performs administrative duties, supervises employees to ensure state and federal mandates are met and safety issues are adequately addressed; plans, coordinates and schedules transportation needs; evaluates routing needs and effectiveness; assumes responsibility for coverage of absences of operations and office staff; promotes positive relationships with partner agencies; assists in coordinating agency events; implements and coordinates agency programs; provides training to staff. Must have the ability to evaluate, determine, and communicate proper action in situations that may pose a safety risk, analyze and solve problems, and be competent in learning and understanding transit routes and schedules.

 

QULAIFICATIONS:

An example of acceptable qualifications:

High school degree or equivalent and work experience which meets the minimum essential functions of the position. Must have excellent communication skills. Must have normal hearing and normal vision, with the aid of corrective devices, as needed.

 

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain insurability under the County's vehicle insurance policy.

Motor vehicle, personal computer, iPad, applicable computer software (e.g. Microsoft office suite, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, etc.), vehicle camera system, printer, copy machine, fax machine, and other standard business office equipment.

 

INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee has exposure to chemical compounds and biological hazards (e.g., toner, correction fluid, bod y fluids, motor oil, etc.); is exposed to possible injury due to unclean or unsanitary conditions; has contact with potentially violent or emotionally distraught persons; has exposure to hazardous driving conditions; has exposure to potentially vicious animals; has exposure to bed bugs, lice, scabies and other insects; works in or around crowds; has exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions; has exposure to second-hand smoke, dust, gas and fumes; ascends and/or descends ladders, stairs, or scaffolds; has to work irregular hours.

Note: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered sedentary work.
