Hardin County Income Maintenance Training Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Trains employees on Hardin County Department of Job and Family Services policies and procedures; trains case workers in the areas of Prevention, Retention, and Contingency (PRC), food stamps, Medicaid, cash programs, and Nursing home policies and procedures; attends trainings as needed; assigns workbooks; prepares reports; works with OMJ, Children’s Services and Nursing Homes to discuss and assist with cases. Reviews cases of overpayments made and other intentional program violations; sends in tickets to get clarification on how to process cases. Schedules and assigns work tasks of employees; authorizes and recommends employee discipline; evaluates employee performance; approves leave requests in absence of a supervisor; interviews and recommends job applicants for hire; participates in meetings in which policy questions are reviewed and discussed, assists with the development of policies, and recommends policy changes; acts as supervisor of the unit in the supervisor’s absence.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of an associate degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following related fields: public administration, human services, psychology, criminology, behavioral or social science, or education, four (4) or more years of related experience and/or training or any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
